Possum Park is situated in a quiet and peaceful bushland setting. This park was a 'top secret' place during the World War as this was the largest bomb and ammunition dump on the Brisbane Line. This depot then held up to two and a half thousand tons of high explosive bombs and ammunition, all hidden in twenty well protected underground bunkers. Those bomb bunkers have been developed into truly unique motel style units, and the troop trains that bought 'the boys' and the bombs to 'Kowguran' have been re-fitted as modern self-contained motel style units.

We visited this park 3 years ago and even then it was a most pleasant place to stay, we only found it by word of mouth and have since past it on to other traveller's to put on their to visit list. Looking at the present website it looks a whole lot better and worth a trip back. Campfire at night was great entertainment also.
