Despite the name, there is a lot more to Gunnedah’s Annual Porchetta Day than perfectly roasted pork. This popular gourmet event is a celebration of Gunnedah’s food and wine scene, and of the town’s Italian lineage. As such, the event is a powerhouse of rustic Italian cuisine made from local produce, such as Italian breads made from local durum wheat, regional wines and condiments crafted from boutique cellars, and fresh cheesecakes and gelato to satisfy every sweet tooth.
That being said, the pork on offer is divine, with local producers providing generously basted pork full of rich aromas and flavours.
However, gourmet food is only one pillar of this fantastic event. The Annual Porchetta Day also offers culturally enriched Italian music, entertainment, dancing and a whole lot of fun. The whole program is packed with things to do, so don’t miss out.
