Armidale Regional Airport is located 8km from the town centre, on the New England Highway.
Operated and run by the Armidale Dumaresq Council, the airport is the major transport gateway into the New England High Country region.
The Armidale - Sydney route is serviced by two airlines, Qantaslink and Regional Express Airlines. Flight schedules allow for a full business day in Sydney which is a distinct advantage for the business traveller. Interstate travellers to Armidale are required to fly directly to Sydney and continue their journey through to Armidale via a connecting flight.
