Celebrate Glen Innes' Celtic heritage at the annual Australian Celtic Festival.
Over four days, the Australian Celtic Festival in Glen Innes will celebrate the deep Celtic roots of the town. Each year, the festival celebrates one of the Celtic nations, and the 2017 extravaganza will honour Ireland.
The festival is a beacon for clans, cultural groups, dancers and performers from around the world, and as such visitors are treated to an array of cultural events. A number of musical and dance acts will take place across the four stage at the festival's main venue - the Australian Standing Stones - as well as in many venues around town.
Additionally, the festival offers entertainment in the form of a street parade, massed pipe bands, strong man events, yard dog trials, a fun run, flag raising ceremonies and poet breakfasts, not to mention heaps of activities for the kids and lots of market stalls and Celtic food.
It's a fun event for the whole family that celebrates and honours the Celtic heritage of this beautiful New England town.
