Enjoy a touch of luxury with your trip to Cobar.
Everything about Cobar Central Motor Inn is designed to give the weary traveller a comfortable haven in which to relieve themselves of the rigors of the road. Humans and vehicles alike are given a chance to cool off from the desert heat, with the sparkling swimming pool looking after the mammals and generous carports taking care of the mechanical.
The perfectly-groomed hedges lend the inn a sense of calm order, while the interiors of the rooms are sparkling new and meticulously clean, and wouldn’t look out of place in the most chic of capital cities.
Sally Bartlett who owns the inn says that she checks in quite a lot of families with campers who are looking for a little bit of luxury on their way to or from some of outback NSW’s more remote camping options. “Especially if we've had rain or it's really, really hot,” she says.
These travellers make especially good use of the shared laundry facilities, the reverse-cycle air-conditioners, and the indulgent bathrooms with their fluffy white towels.
Located just across the road from Cobar’s Bowling and Golf Club, guests are welcome to have meals there that can be charged back to their account at the inn, with the short walk home meaning they can indulge in a beer or two while they try their luck at the ever-popular meat raffle of a Friday night.
For breakfast the Inn offers a full hot buffet in the dining room, or room service is available for those who would like a little more privacy.
Cobar Central Motor Inn is located at 18 Murray St, Cobar, NSW.
