A unique experience set in a magnificent wilderness landscape.
Nestled among the spectacular mountains and valleys of Oxley Wild Rivers National Park, on the Macleay River in New England ‘Gorge Country’, this restored Australian red cedar homestead is a magnificent find and more “old Regret” than anything else in the Snowy Mountains.
It’s accessed via a rough 4WD-only dirt track that traverses the national park, making it isolated and a great place to escape to the wilderness.
Inside the restored heritage-listed homestead (originally built in the 1890s), a well-stocked modern kitchen doubles as a massive communal dining room, while the fireplace is so cosy that you can’t avoid dozing off on the couch with a good book.
The five bedrooms sleep up to 14 people comfortably, and while guests always think they’ll walk, fish, canoe or horse ride, most laze on the stunning verandah contemplating how such stunning surrounds could possibly come to be.
East Kunderang Homestead is located in the Oxley Wild Rivers National Park. Book now to stay at East Kunderang Homestead.
