Elderslie B&B is a beautifully restored historic homestead on a working sheep farm outside Armidale.
If your idea of the perfect country escape involves a beautifully decorated, rambling farmhouse overlooking the rolling hills of a working sheep farm, then Elderslie B&B in Armidale is the place for you.
You’ll feel as though you’re stepping through the pages of an interior design magazine as you walk from room to room in this artistically-styled house, which has been in the Fittler family for five generations.
Current owner, Nicole Fittler, has overseen the renovation of the original homestead, which was built in 1880, and transformed it into a bright, crisp country home with luxurious modern amenities.
Elderslie B&B is a self-contained house with three bedrooms, each sporting queen beds – the main with an en suite bathroom. There’s a single daybed in the sunroom and provision for two additional single trundle beds upon request. It’s the perfect set-up for a family or a group of friends, with large communal areas easily able to accommodate a crowd.
The heart of the home is undoubtedly the lounge room, where a stag horn-inspired contemporary chandelier hangs dramatically above an open fireplace. In addition, the peaceful rural setting is visible through an enormous bay window.
The kitchen is also a social hub, blending rustic country charm with modern comforts. Its exposed brick walls are painted a crisp off-white and pendant lights hang over a central wooden dining table. Gleaming stainless-steel appliances add to the charm and also make life easier.
You’ll find plenty of space for alfresco living, too, amongst the established gardens surrounding the homestead. From here you’ll have an excellent view of the paddocks beyond, where fallow deer and 400 head of sheep graze.
Elderslie B&B is located at 186 Cluny Rd, Armidale, NSW. Book now to stay at Elderslie B&B.
