All roads really do lead to the country capital of Australia.
Tamworth city is at the junction of the New England and Oxley Highways and lies 100km from Council’s northern boundary and about 90km from the south-eastern tip of the region.
Tamworth is an easy five hour drive from Sydney via the Pacific Motorway and New England Highway.
The new Hunter Expressway enables easier travel to and from the region including a shortened three hour trip from Newcastle.
Tamworth is six and half hour drive from Brisbane via the New England Highway.
QantasLink operates several turboprop and Q400 air services to and from Sydney daily.
Tamworth Airport is a short drive into the CBD. The airport has a cafe, airline lounge access, car hire service desks, ATM, and wireless internet facilities. Both short and long term car parking is available adjacent to the terminal. Taxis are available and can be arranged on-board your aircraft or when you arrive at the terminal.
BY RAIL AND BUS
There are daily CountryLink train and bus services to Tamworth, both interstate and from across the region. Tamworth Railway Station is only a few minutes’ walk from the CBD, with taxis also available upon arrival.
Greyhound Australia also services the Tamworth region.
