The town of Goulburn lies a mere two hours and twenty minutes from Sydney along the M31 Highway. From the other direction, Goulburn can be reached in an hour along the M23 Highway from Canberra. 

The other major towns of the Canberra Region all offer similar drive times, with Yass 45 minutes north of Canberra, Crookwell an hour and a half north of Canberra, and Young two hours north of Canberra.


NSW TrainLink offer train services from Sydney and Melbourne to Goulburn, while City Rail run services from Sydney to Goulburn with stops at Mittagong and Moss Vale.
