Moree Artesian Spa Motel

Adventures

Comfy motel accommodation with private access to Moree’s famous artesian waters.

Lounge area

Moree is famous for its bounty of natural artesian water, which is mineral rich and said to hold wonderful therapeutic properties. And while the Moree Artesian Aquatic Centre should be on any traveller’s must-do list, what better way to maximize your enjoyment of this natural gift than by staying at one of the town’s few accommodation providers with access to the artesian springs for their own private pools? The pick of the bunch is the Moree Artesian Spa Motel.

Bedroom

Set on five acres of landscaped gardens, this 3.5 star facility offers more than your conventional roadside motel.

Lounge area

Aside from an array of well-appointed rooms to suit your budget and a top-notch restaurant, the big draw card here is the collection of swimming pools heated to suit your preference. Some like it hot, as we all know, and they’re accommodated in the devilishly balmy 40-degree indoor pool-which can be enjoyed no matter the weather and is complete with spa jets for maximum relaxation. We found 10 minutes an adequate time to spend in this wonderful bubbling cauldron, after which time a cool change was required.

Indoor pool

A hop, skip and a jump outside is the second artesian pool, which is heated slightly cooler at 32-degrees. This was basically the perfect temperature and we were able to sit back and soak in the minerals of the artesian basin for an hour or more under the dazzling night sky of the northwestern wheat belt of NSW.

Saltwater pool

A third cold saltwater pool will best suit travellers in the summer, or those who can’t handle the heat. The kid’s will love playing in the cooler water, too.

As well as a swimming pool to suit every traveller, there’s a room to do the same.

Bedroom

The range of rooms includes: a compact queen for the budget-conscious or those who just want to ‘crash’; a self-contained, one-bedroom apartment with a full kitchen and open plan living/dining (perfect for the longer stay); a king studio room that has a kitchenette and the option of an additional single bed; a river view king room with a veranda overlooking the river; and a family room with a queen bed and two singles, plus a rear door opening onto a grassed area where the kids can play under supervision. All rooms are air-conditioned and have private bathrooms.

Restaurant

The restaurant is large and open with a pretty outlook to the creek that runs behind the motel and plenty of lush green foliage. It’s open everyday for breakfast, and every night except Sunday for dinner. If you fancy wandering into town to eat, it’s an easy walk away.
