Affordable accommodation a stone’s throw from town.
Mudgee Riverside Caravan Park has plenty of things going for it, but two factors most stand out. The first is its fabulous location on the banks of the Cudgegong River just a few minutes’ walk from town, and second is its wonderful gardens and established trees that splash colour and shade liberally upon its grassy camping sites and self-contained cabins.
A far cry from the at times clinical environment of large chain caravan parks, this small, family-owned park exudes character and country charm. Huge, leafy trees protect it from the at times searing Central NSW summer sun, and its lawns and garden beds are maintained immaculately.
Powered and unpowered sites overlook the river, while an array of cabins are available for those who prefer solid walls.
We opted for the latter, bunkering down in a two-bedroom villa that had a double bed in one room and a bunk over double in the other, accommodating a total of five. The villa had a full size kitchen and ensuite bathroom, with a combined living/dining area opening onto a balcony with an alfresco dining table.
We found the location ideal, just a five minute walk to the cafes and shops of fabulous Mudgee. This was particularly handy given the fact Mudgee’s restaurants and bars are stocked with exceptional local wines; finding a willing designated driver in a wine region is always a challenge!
And with Woolworths just a two-minute walk from the park, stocking up on groceries to self-cater for the family is as easy as can be.
For affordable accommodation and camping in an accessible and scenic location in Mudgee, consider the Mudgee Riverside Caravan Park.
