Town Bio

While once an important stop on the Cobb and Co route, Pilliga is today a town renowned for its delightful Artesian Bore Bath. Gazetted in 1885, Pilliga was the base for Indian trader Nabob Allem in the 1950s, who, upon his death, was remembered as the ‘unofficial mayor’. A trip to Pilliga today is all about relaxation, with the hot bore baths and the Pilliga lagoons offering much in the way of serenity and revitalisation.
