Home to some of the richest agricultural land in the country, the Tamworth Farmers’ Market is a vibrant community event.
Held every Saturday in summer and every other Saturday throughout the rest of the year, the Tamworth Farmers’ Market supplies fresh produce, flowers, baked goods, cheeses and diary, meat, honey, coffee, berries, cider, soup, kombucha – you name it.
There are food stalls serving up hot coffee and ready-to-eat meals, which can be enjoyed on the grassy grounds of the Bicentennial Park, just a block from the main street. Settle in under the shade of one of the park’s gorgeous big trees to enjoy the sweet sounds of local musicians as they serenade this vibrant community event. There’s no shortage of musical talent in Australia’s unofficial home of country music, so you’re in for a treat.
The Tamworth Farmers’ Market’s mission is:
“To increase the exchange of food and farm products in our region, encourage new farmers and producers and help build community through a seasonal marketplace and a year-round, vibrant food and farm economy.”
It’s safe to say it does just that and is a fabulous representation of the region for travellers passing through.
