Start your day the right way at Treloar's Coffee Shop.
There is no bigger relief for the tired traveller than arriving in a new town to find a refreshing coffee and some delicious food, and that is exactly the service that Treloar’s Coffee Shop provides. Backed up by inviting indoor and outdoor seating areas, as well as a substantial and reasonably priced menu, this café is a must-visit on your way through the stunning outback landscape of Hay, NSW.
Trealoar’s opens at 7am and from that time its doors see a steady stream of locals popping in for their morning brew and a friendly chat on the way to work.
For the early bird with a bit more time they offer an all day breakfast menu with a unique array of serving sizes. Raisin toast, muffins, croissants and fruit salad are available for those who just need something small to get their engine’s started. The ‘Big Breakfast’ is perfect for the hungry traveller while the ‘Bigger Breakfast’ should satisfy those who are ravenous.
A range of sandwiches, focaccias, melts, burgers, schnitzels and salad are available for lunch, and all of these meals are incredibly good value with none of them costing more than $12. Cakes, muffins, slices, and biscuits are also available to go with your hot drink.
You can enjoy your coffee and meal on the couch in the air-conditioned interior, or soak up some fresh air in the shaded courtyard seating area. The courtyard is fully fenced so you can safely leave the kids there while you go inside to order your food or to grab a magazine or newspaper. If you are interested in learning more about the character of the local district pick up one of the loan copies of The Riverina Grazier. This is Hay’s local newspaper and its offices are just down the street from Treloar’s Coffee Shop.
The food and coffee at Treloar’s are all made with care and its location right on the main street makes it an easy place to stop and refuel. It is just across the road from the town’s supermarket, very close to the local butcher, and next door to Saltbush Motor Inn.
You’ll notice the bike mounted on the wall of the courtyard; it a memorial to the owner’s husband John Treloar who passed away in 2012.
Treloar’s Coffee Shop is located at 185 Lachlan St, Hay, NSW.
