The Australian Rail Monument and Museum is located in Werris Creek, the first and last railway town in NSW. The Monument pays tribute to those railway men and women who lost their lives in railway accidents since 1850, and consists of six large sculptures of railway workers, as well as an amphitheatre used for public concerts, and a wall of remembrance on which over 2400 names have been inscribed. The museum is located at the Werris Creek railway station, the third largest in NSW, and offers a collection of displays that detail the town’s vibrant railway past. The displays are constantly being added to, keeping the exhibition fresh.
