Located right on the border of NSW and Queensland, the Bald Rock National Park is a beautiful day trip from Tenterfield. The park is popular for its challenging and enjoyable walks that lead to up to the Bald Rock summit, such as the Bungoona and Rockface walks, with visitors treated to stunning views over this Northern Tablelands region. The park is also home to various native plants and animals, and therefore offers a true country escape. The park’s namesake, Bald Rock, is worth the trip in itself, as it is Australia’s largest exposed granite rock, yet those without much time on their hands can visit the park's only picnic area and enjoy a barbecue lunch while they soak up this serene atmosphere. Please note, vehicle entry fees are $7 per vehicle per day. The park has coin-operated "pay and display" machines, so please bring correct coins.
