Boggabri's history is quite fascinating with the town's main street having moved three times. A self-walk heritage trail through the town reveals many interesting highlights of progress since its beginnings in the early 1860s (available at Museum).
A great way to get a 'feel' of Boggabri's life story is to visit the historical museum. You can lose yourself for hours taking a trip down 'memory lane' viewing memorabilia of days gone by.
Of particular interest is the old school house set up to resemble a classroom of yesteryear.
Boggabri is also home to the Annual Boggabri Drovers campfire weekend where caravans, motor homers and campers come from all over Australia in the last weekend of April to enjoy a unique event full of fun.
The museum is also the meeting spot for the local Boggabri Mens Workshop (Shed) which meets there every Thursday and Saturday from 8am to 12pm.
