Those who want to explore the stunning Gibraltar Range National Park but are short on time will enjoy the Lyrebird Falls walking track. Beginning near the Boundary Falls picnic area, this one kilometre family friendly walk snakes through an open forest of tall eucalypts, grass trees, tree ferns and wattles to reach a scenic lookout on the edge of the steep-sided valley. As you might expect from the track’s name, the lookout offers views of numerous little waterfalls down below, with sweeping view along Boundary Creek also provided. Visitors are also more than likely to spy lyrebirds along the path, while a lucky few might even glimpse a wedge tailed eagle soaring overhead.
