The Old Dubbo Gaol is a remarkably intact piece of Australian history. Situated on the main street of Dubbo, the gaol provides visitors with an engaging and educational experience that cannot be beaten. The gaol operated from 1847 until 1966, its 19th and 20th century buildings housing countless memories. On display are the hangman’s kit and gallows, as well as the dark cells and the watchtower. Guided day and night tours are available, as well as school visits and group tours.
