The Wimbaliri name is derived from the local Ngunnawal dialect meaning to drink. The soil, the vines and planting are the beginning of the distinctive wines produced at Wimbaliri. The vineyard lies at latitude of 35 degrees south, near the NSW village of Murrumbateman. Warm days and cool nights at this altitude produce elegant wines with distinctive flavours and intense aroma. The vineyard blocks are some of the highest in Murrumbateman well positioned on a north-eastern slope overlooking a small valley.
