Beginning life as the visitors information centre in 2002, two eight two eight has grown to become a vibrant community hub. The renovated building today boasts a café, an attractive courtyard, an art gallery, a second hand book store, a library and a gift shop selling local art, craft and produce. Additionally, the centre hosts a number of special events, including the hugely popular annual Dinner Under the Stars. Ensure you visit includes a meal and a coffee at the fabulous café, where volunteer cooks prepare fresh scones, cakes and meals daily using locally grown produce wherever possible. The visitors centre itself is well worth a visit, as it provides a wealth of information on Gulargambone and the surrounding areas.
